We were after an option that can be worn with shorts for those casual Fridays and come the weekend worn with some chinos for your best friend’s wedding. We blended the standard upper of a chukka boot in with the low cut of a formal shoe and found the perfect balance between casual and smart. Our wide fitting lasts weren’t going to make the cut for that wedding you going to attend, so we added in our new standard width last to give you that touch of fashion you after. This is all topped off with our Oringo wedge sole which has quickly become a much sought after option.
Finally a footwear option where formal meets casual meets durability.
The SHOELLIE

Manufactured with a single layer of 2.2mm oily Nubuck leather

A steel shank between the insole board and sole offers extra support and stability

Midsole is secured to the upper with a double stitched 2.2mm braided nylon cord

Last: ASHM – This is standard width (for those with wide feet or wearing thick socks we suggest going a half size up from your normal Jim Green size)

Sole: OR (This sole is designed for a combination of grip, comfort and speed. It is a genuine rubber and of a softer feel to provide comfort under foot)
The best way to preserve your Jim Greens is through regular and correct polishing. Water, heat and wear remove the natural oil from the leather, so when the tiny fibres dry out they become hard, brittle and break easily, thereby shorten the life of the leather.
For our leather boots we recommend any natural shoe polish found at your local store. For our suede options we suggest light brushing to remove dirt and a scotchguard for longer protection.
After a long day in wet conditions and you requiring your boots early the next morning, the worst possible solution is to artificially dry your boots. Leather fibres burn easily – especially when wet and therefore should never be left near a heater, placed in your oven or left in direct sunlight. For the best results, footwear should be dried out slowly and never subjected to any extreme heat. Should you work in constantly wet conditions, it is best to alternate between two or more pairs of our Jim Green boots.
We realise that buying footwear online is a daunting task and we are often asked to recommend a size by new Jim Green customers. If you happen to purchase a pair of Jim Green boots online and they do not fit, we will happily exchange them for you. If the measurements fall in-between the lengths provided, we do offer half sizes on certain styles. We can recommend a size but we can’t guarantee the fit.

The most comfortable shoes right out of the box. This ASHM last has the perfect toebox for me. Although if I may make a suggestion, carving out a slight concavity of the sole at the medial aspect of the midfoot would make the overall shape just a little sleeker without sacrificing any comfort or fit.
The shoes feel like real quality and look forward to wearing them in the office and casually for years to come.
Please offer other shoes like the African Ranger or Vellies in the ASHM last as standard fare! I am sure they would be popular options. High boots like the Baobab are too hot for my equatorial climate.

I’m just received my Shoellies in the post and I’m very pleased with them indeed – they are made with excellent materials, the leather is fantastic. The ASHM last is great too, I went up to a 12.5UK from my usual 12UK in dress shoes and they fit perfectly. They feel robust and will last for years. I cant wait to see how the shoe adapts to my feet over time.
I think the heel counter could do with a little more structure to prevent heel slippage – I appreciate the leather softens and moulds to the shape of your foot, but I cant put custom insoles in without my heel slipping around when I walk. Not quite so much an issue with the Jim Green insoles. That’s my only non-positive comment.
All in all great value for money for excellent shoes. Even with the shipping costs to the UK.
